Description
The Wanamaker is the first golf course named in honor of Rodman Wanamaker, who in 1916, inspired the birth of The PGA of America and is the namesake of the PGA Championship Trophy, currently held by Phil Mickelson. A classic Florida layout, Tom Fazio's Wanamaker Course is set against a backdrop of wetlands, palm trees and palmettos. In 2021, Golfweek magazine ranked the Wanamaker as one of the top golf courses in Florida, as well as the number one public golf course along the Treasure Coast.
This 18-hole tournament will start at 9:00 am. Golfers will receive access to the PGA driving range, new short game practice area, six-hole short course, and Wanamaker practice green, which all open at 7:00 am. Each golfer will receive a welcome bag upon registration. Mulligans, raffle tickets, an opportunity to mingle with sponsors and other players, and more, will also be available upon check in. Gourmet lunch boxes and refreshments will be provided. Raffle prizes will be distributed at the Awards Luncheon, where trophies and prizes for lowest team score, longest drive and closest to the pin will be awarded.
Not a golfer? Not a problem. We will have a special day planned for you to showcase the best that the PGA Golf Club has to offer, including chilling at the Taplow Pub, open for breakfast at 6:30 am, with lunch starting at 10:30 am, happy hour from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm and dinner until 8:00 pm. Spectator carts will be offered at a discounted rate. Don’t forget to join the raffles for a chance to win specially curated prizes.
Proceeds of this event will benefit the Phil-Am TC Scholarship Program and the Phil-Am TC Education Foundation with the Indian River State College. Since 1986, Phil-Am TC has awarded scholarships to over 250 High School and College graduates. We are extremely proud of our scholarship awardees and this enduring legacy.
